For over a decade, Springfield Armory has gained a reputation as a leading manufacturer and importer of handguns within the United States. One of the factors that contributed significantly to this achievement was the successful marketing of the Springfield XD, originally a Croatian pistol named the HS2000. Following the success of this model the company moved forward, producing several different versions of the XD as well as an upgraded version renamed the XDM. The Springfield Armory XDM combines the tried and tested pistol design and technology found in the XD with the latest innovations to provide an unparalleled experience. It is an amazing pistol that never fails to impress.

The Springfield XDM is not just a revolutionary pistol; it is an evolution of a legendary pistol that has had a significant influence on the handgun-manufacturing industry. It is similar to the XD model in a number of ways; for example, its frame, manufactured from polymer. In short, it is a rather compact pistol that comes with an abundance of excellent features. Sporting the same natural grip angle as the XD which enables you to get a more comfortable grip when aiming, the gun is designed in such a way that it offers a direct view of a target when raised to eye level. Other XD features included in the XDM are the Ultra Safe Assurance Trigger System, grip safety, loaded chamber indicator and striker status indicator.

There are a number of important features that make the XDM a truly improved version of the XD. Several modifications were made to the design of the handgun in order to make it more ergonomic and easier to handle. The XDM has longer, deeper, serrations of a higher volume on its slide to enable a better grasp, as well as modified grip contours to facilitate firmer handling. The front of the grip features a mega-lock surface with immaculately calculated contours that can provide excellent control- vertically and horizontally. This grip surface does not only serve a great purpose, but it also gives the handgun a more rugged appearance.

The Springfield XDM is finished in melonite as opposed to the traditional black oxide finish and therefore, has a higher resistance against corrosion and scratches. It also comes with a match grade barrel to provide better accuracy, of which the creation of XDM’s match grade barrel requires precision technology that is unprecedented in today’s firearms industry. Additionally, the XDM features a trigger that possesses a shorter travel than other currently available polymer handguns. It’s equally short reset allows the user to maintain focus on a target with ease and make subsequent shots more accurately. The standard magazine capacity for the XDM 9mm is 13 rounds, but this can be increased to 19 rounds with a magazine extender. The XDM .40 can hold a maximum of 16 rounds.

Tactical Gun Armory is one of the best places to purchase a Springfield Armory XDM today. This online firearm store boasts a great selection of XDM pistols for you to choose from, in addition to some of the lowest prices on the web today. Providing each and every customer with exceptional customer service and a comfortable shopping experience, Tactical Gun Armory is the ideal location for any firearm enthusiast.

9mm ammunition is one of the most widely acknowledged types of firearm ammunition, generally used within submachine guns and handguns. The value 9mm represents the diameter of the bullet but eliminates the diameter of the casing within this measurement. A 9mm bullet has an effective range of around 100 meters, but it can remain lethal over longer distances. It has a flat trajectory and its recoil is moderate.

The 9mm ammunition was first introduced by German firearm designer Georg Luger in 1904. He had previously designed his own firearm, the Luger pistol, which was 7.62mm and 7.65 mm caliber pistol, but many buyers were not satisfied with the stopping power of this particular weapon. To secure larger contracts, he opted to make the gun fire a larger bullet. His design of a round-nosed shell that possessed a diameter of 9 mm and length of 19 mm resulted in his 9mm caliber pistol being selected by the German Army as a standard firearm. The introduction of the 9mm standard inspired many other firearm designers such as John Browning and Signior Beretta to create their own versions of 9mm caliber weapons. In 1938, the Germany military developed a machine pistol that used 9mm ammunition and later on, the Soviets designed their own version of 9mm caliber weapon, named the 9mm Makarov. Within today’s industry, some of the most widely known 9mm handguns and submachine guns include the Beretta 93-R, Heckler and Koch MP-5, Walther PPK, Uzi submachine gun, Ingram MAC-10, and Glock 17 and 18.

9mm ammunition is used for a wide range of purposes including law enforcement, home defense, civilian self defense and within the military. There are a few basic types of 9mm ammo, including hollow-point, full metal jacket, and soft point. Hollow-point bullets are, as the name suggests, hollowed out and are not pointed in design. As such, they do not just penetrate and pass through their target, but will instead, expand and produce maximum damage to their intended target. Full metal jacket 9mm ammunition is commonly used in assault rifles and pistols as the bullet is encased in a strong metal, such as copper, and therefore it is tougher than most other types of bullets and is able to penetrate armor plating. It can be fired at a high speed and does not leave any lead residue inside the gun. A soft point bullet can come with a dull or pointed tip and can also be jacketed. The characteristic that makes this bullet unique is that its lead is exposed at the tip. Other types of 9mm ammunition that are available include match bullets, frangible projectile ammunition, metal case ammo and lead free bullets.

The Glock 17 is a semi-automatic handgun, designed by Austrian gun manufacturer Glock Ges. Widely recognized as the most commonly used law enforcement handgun in the world and considered a legendary product within the firearm industry; it is incredibly easy and safe to use and it can consistently meet any handgun user’s expectations.

The Glock Ges Company was founded by mechanical engineer Gaston Glock, commencing with its manufacturing of handguns in 1982. At the time, Glock had no prior experience in designing handguns, but possessed profound knowledge in synthetic polymers which was instrumental in the creation of the Glock 17, the company’s first handgun. The Glock 17 handgun came with a polymer frame, but it was its reliability and durability that changed the way handgun users perceived ‘plastic guns’. It soon became the first polymer-frame handgun that achieved commercial success. Shortly after its prototype was created, the Glock 17 was selected by the Austrian police and military forces as the Pistole 80, ahead of eight other handguns by established firearm manufacturers. Over the years, it gained favor with many law enforcement and military forces as well as security agencies around the world and presently commands a market share of approximately 65% of handguns that are purchased by US law enforcement agencies.

The Glock 17 is a 9x19mm Parabellum semi-automatic handgun that was specifically designed for professional use. It comes standard with a 17-round magazine, but it can also hold 19 or 33 rounds with a base plate or a higher capacity magazine. A short recoil-operated handgun that features a cam lock system that is somewhat similar to the locking mechanism found in the Hi-Power pistol from Browning, one of the Glock 17’s most distinctive features is the Safe Action trigger system. The gun has two triggers- an outer trigger and an inner trigger- and the inner trigger must be depressed first before the outer can be actuated. Since the Glock 17 is made of polymer, recoil will be significantly reduced during firing. In addition, the gun can withstand shock following dropping easier than guns that are manufactured from steel or aluminum.

A compact handgun that has a length of 7.32 inches and height of 5.43 inches, the Glock 17 is just a little more than 1 inch thick. With an unloaded weight of 22 ounces, it is significantly lighter than other popular handguns such as the Steyr GB, HK P7, SIG-Sauer P226, Beretta 92SB and Colt M1911. The Glock 17 pistol is made from only 33 parts with many of these parts manufactured directly in the Glock manufacturing plant. Presently, there are a few modified versions of the handgun such as the Glock 17C, 17L, and 17MB.

If you are contemplating investing in a Glock 17, it is imperative that you go to an authorized online dealer of Glock handguns. Tactical Gun Armory is one of the most reputable dealers of Glock products on the web today, offering a range of Glock handguns, accessories and much more.
